Friday GTYC News Round Up 8/15/08

We had a great week at the GTYC ! We were able to complete the demolition which was a huge step forward towards reconstruction. The site looks great with just the slab still in place. We were able to preserve most of the kitchen equipment along with some various other items found during the process.

We have had some great communication with the contractors who are in the process of completing their bids for the new building. Bids are due back on August 26, so we should be able to start the new construction sometime in September if all goes to plan.

Next weekend the Club is hosting the Melges 24 annual regatta. The Club bar/tent will be open on Friday night so come on down and share some spirits and laughs on the lawn with your friends.

Also nominations took place on Wednesday night. I wanted to leave the nomination period open for one week to make sure we didn't miss anyone who has some interest in joining the Board of Directors or becoming Rear Commodore. Please let me know by Wednesday August 20th if you intend to run.
