Dear GTYC Members,

The investigation has been concluded as to the origin and probable cause of the fire at the GTYC. I was going to brief the membership at the meeting tomorrow night in a more formal fashion but the media seems to have beat me to it unfortunately.

The investigators concluded that the fire started in the front of the building on the exterior near the south wall of the alcove. (Former site of the large tree area). The official statement from Gary Rushton, the Elmwood Township Deputy Fire Chief is: Human Involvement / Accidental.

There was no evidence of accelerant or suspicious involvement, simply accidental.

Now that the investigation is over, we as a club need to put it behind us and focus on the future. The progress the board and committees have made in a week has been amazing. It truly is an all hands on deck situation.
